She knew she wanted to be a vet and worked as a stable hand, groomer, trainer, zookeeper, and vet tech along the way. She graduated from Ross University in 1998 and worked in small animal hospitals as well as an emergency clinic here in the Hudson Valley. In 2001 Laraine met Mark Rosenberg, beginning what each hopes will be a lifelong working relationship.

Dr. Caliri has has special interests in birds, reptiles and alternative therapies. She breeds rare poultry. trains and shows her dogs, and loves Cape Cod and the beach.

Dr. Shannon Dawkins grew up in Palisades, NY with a wide range of pets including birds, cats, dogs, hamsters, goats, chickens and an orphan flying squirrel. Dr. Konstantine Barsky grew up in New York City wanting to be a paleontologist. This interest, coupled with constant exposure to the medical field through his family, led him to veterinary school at Ross University where he graduated in 2008. Often considered a tough profession to enter and pursue, Kon finds veterinary medicine to be a natural choice for him since making his decision. He may eventually want to return to his urban roots and perhaps do some shelter work, but readily admits that he has come to enjoy the mixed animal environment that a rural area like Ulster County and the Hudson Valley provides him.

Dr. Barsky loves music, especially jazz, and is himself an accomplished bass player.
