Dr. Danielle Schafer

Born in Long Island, NY, Dr. Danielle Schafer completed her undergraduate degree at SUNY Cobleskill in Animal Science in 2016, graduated veterinary school in 2020 from Ross University of Veterinary Medicine & completed her clinical year at Cornell University. She grew up coming upstate with her family on weekends and knew once she graduated that is where she would return.

She gained experience at a veterinary hospital in Oneonta NY, working with primarily dogs and cats but broadened her knowledge there and learned to love rats, backyard bird species and occasional pet pigs. She loves being a veterinarian, she has a soft spot for her grey faced patients and has a special interest in vast surgical procedures. She has many clients as breeders & has performed multiple c-sections, she’s loves being able to bring new life in the world but is very passionate in population control with spay and neutering.

In her free time, she volunteers at a local shelter in Oneonta, Superheroes in Ripped Jeans Humane Society. She has a small hobby farm with goats, backyard birds, horses and a donkey located in Schoharie county.

She has two dogs Mango & Luna. Some fun facts, she is Italian, loves to try new foods, loves Disney and has been on multiple TV shows with her cat Kitty, who saved her life in 2019! She promises to always be compassionate and treat your animals as her own.
